“I had already been in rehearsal for about three weeks preparing for the video when Cardi heard the record for the first time,” Normani said in a statement. “She really showed up for me and brought this record to life by simply doing what Cardi does best. I love that woman down and I’m forever grateful.”

Lil Baby Recruits Megan Thee Stallion For “On Me (Remix)” But Fans Wanted Omeretta

Lil Baby taps Megan Thee Stallion for a remix of his December 2020 single “On Me.” This, however, is to the displeasure of many fans who were requesting that the remix be done with other female artists, including Lakeyah, Mulatto, Omeretta, or Nicki Minaj. Some fans expressed that while they love the “Body” rapper, they are tired of seeing her on features.

“I’m getting tired of Meg the stallion on features pick someone else. Smh,” one critic wrote meanwhile another added, “I love Meg but she doesn’t need to be on everything. There’s so many other female rappers that would’ve snapped on this.”

The 26-year-old rapper has been featured on several songs, including Cardi B’s “WAP,” Maroon 5’s “Beautiful Mistakes,” “Yo Gotti’s “Pose,” among others.

Lil Baby’s “On Me” was released in December along with another single, “Errbody,” to commemorate his 26th birthday. The music video captures the rapper and his friends on expensive rides, jet-skiing, on a private jet and yacht, and basically living their best life. The latest release features a more colorful and expressive take on the topic.

The director of the video, Mike Ho, has been receiving his fair share of commendations for the contrast in scenery, ice, and fire, both beautiful in their own way. The music video features Lil Baby performing his verse before a beautiful icy fortress with Megan lip-syncing beside him and Megan performing her verse atop a roaring volcano, and at intervals, in a tundra setting.

Despite the negative comments, the song and video have been gaining traction from the public, as the two are still well-loved by their respective fans.

Both Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, and Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, performed at the 63rd Grammy Awards earlier this year. Lil Baby’s unforgettable performance of “The Bigger Picture,” during which he channeled the Black Lives Matter rallies, and Megan’s spicy stripper-themed performance of WAP with Cardi B received a large number of views and comments (still both negative and positive). In addition, that night, Megan won three Grammys for Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song for her “Savage” remix with Beyonce. This, therefore, means that, amid the negative comments, Meg is still doing something right.

It appears that some fans wanted Omeretta on the remix but Lil Baby opted to get Thee Stallion who has a resume of creating big hits with other rappers.

It really is stuck now. Following her oversized performance of the single at the Grammys two weekends ago, Cardi B’s “Up” is now her fifth song to top the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of March 23, 2021. “Up” marks her fifth No. 1 hit to date, following the chart dominance of “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” and “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion. Peep the video for the single below.

“Up” is expected to appear on Cardi B’s as-yet untitled sophomore album, which is still in the works. “I feel like I’m missing some songs,” she told Mariah Carey last month, in a conversation for Interview Magazine. “Everybody’s rushing me to put it out, but I don’t know if it’s the right time.”

Later, she added that “people always have crazy expectations, especially when it comes to female rap. It’s not like it’s a competition, but people are always comparing and comparing and comparing. It’s almost like they want to see you fail. I hate the feeling when I don’t do something really good. So I want my shit to be good because my last album did so well, and if this one doesn’t do well, I’m going to feel really sad.”

Sunday night marked the 63rd annual Grammy Awards and despite the night’s more pared-down format, there were still some big performances throughout. With a smaller, socially-distanced audience seated in front of intimate indoor and outdoor soundstages near the Staples Center, artists like Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, BTS, and more either took to the stage live or had their performances filmed remotely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Some of the best performances of the night came from some of its biggest winners. From Dua Lipa bringing fans to her personal nightclub with “Levitating” and “Don’t Start Now,” to Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B performing a medley of their solo and collaborative singles, the hits flowed.

Cardi B Reacts To “Bodak Yellow” Certifying Diamond, A First For A Female Rapper

Cardi B is the first female rapper in history to have a song going diamond.

Cardi B can seem to do no wrong, musically at least. Today her debut breakout hit “Bodak Yellow” was announced as officially gaining Diamond status in the United States. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) it earned the certification on March 3, 2021. Diamond status is equivalent to 10x platinum and signifies at least ten million in US units sold. A unit is equivalent to 1 paid download or 150 streams. So this is beyond an incredible feat for the Bronx rapper.

This has resulted in Cardi officially being given the honor of the first female rapper in history to attain this feat. Since the release of the track back in 2018, which was off her “Invasion Of Privacy Album” the response has been overwhelming. The track’s success was also responsible for landing her in the coveted top ten list and she is the only other rapper apart from Nicki Minaj to achieve this. It was even at one point one of the longest-running tracks by a female rapper on the Billboard charts steadily holding the number one position for weeks on end.

According to reports, Cardi was surprised by Executives at Atlantic Records at a dinner after rehearsals for the upcoming 63rd Grammy’s Awards. Her husband Offset displayed the plague via his Instagram Story. Apart from the Diamond status attained by “Bodak Yellow” Cardi B also had her single “WAP” featuring Meghan Thee Stallion certified 5x Platinum.

Cardi B expressed her thanks to all her fans that supported her. “I just want to say thank you guys so much because without you guys this wouldn’t have happened. This really made my day and really uplifted me for this crazy performance.” Already her friends in the music industry have started reaching out with congratulatory messages.

“How it started, How’s its going,” she wrote on IG. “Thank you every1 that send me beautiful congrats on Bodak going Diamond. A couple of years ago I didn’t even understand what going diamond means or meant I just wanted to win and break in.This record changed my life.Thank you everyone who showed Bodak so much support and support and buy till THIS DAYY !! That’s why it went diamond cause of the support YOU still give. Wap is a spicy one shorty 5X platinum in 7 months makes me really happy cause I put this song out when I was doubting myself then most. With hardly any radio play cause of how nasty it was but babyeeee it was a shocker!”

G-Eazy posted: “CONGRATS TO MY HOMEGIRL @IAMCARDIB ON BEING THE FIRST FEMALE IN RAP TO HAVE A CERTIFIED DIAMOND SINGLE. SHEEESH. ALWAYS LOVE AND APPRECIATE YA. KEEP SHINING.”

It was just this past February that another rapper Lauryn Hill also made history when she became the first female rapper to earn a Diamond certification for her album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” released back in 1998. Cardi B is set to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony slated for March 14, 2021.

We know there are many more great things to come for the groundbreaking rapper.

Cardi B Asserts Dominance With Another Female Rap Historic Achievement

Cardi B bags another historic achievement in female rap as she heads into album mode.

Cardi B has shattered another ceiling as she elevates beyond the level most rappers can only dream of achieving. Her “Invasion of Privacy album is bringing fresh success as it concretizes her commercial dominance as a rapper. At present, the majority of the songs on the album have been certified Platinum by the RIAA, and “Bodak Yellow” is slowly creeping to Diamond certification.

The album continues to be a fan favorite and is creeping to a new milestone as it has been recorded as the only album by a female rapper in Hip Hop history to spend 150 weeks on Billboard’s 200 Chart. The feat has not ever been achieved by another female rapper and is particularly impressive as Cardi B is a relatively young rapper in the game.

Cardi B celebrated the achievement with a post on Twitter saying in all caps, “BIRKIN BAG BARDI BACK.” The Bronx rapper is set to trailblaze further as fans anticipate her follow-up album, which included songs “WAP” and “UP” to further secure her dominant position. Of course, if that is the teaser from her upcoming album, one can only imagine what the rest of the album will sound like.

Among Cardi’s noted achievements is being the first female rapper to make chart history by going straight to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 after dropping her song “UP.” This is the highest debut for a solo track by a female rapper in the last 100 years (albeit rap hasn’t been around for this long anyways but still a noted feat as none before her has achieved the milestone). Only Lauryn Hill has achieved such a milestone with her song “Doo Wop (That Thing),” and Cardi is the first woman since Lauryn Hill’s solo achievement.

Cardi B Says She Plans To Tell Her Side Of Assault Story

Cardi B says she wants to tell her side of the story as soon as her New York assault case is over.

Cardi B was charged with assault back in 2019 stemming from an alleged fight at a Queen’s strip club. According to reports, she allegedly ordered attacks on two bartenders, Jade, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s current girlfriend, and Baddie G. The attack was allegedly triggered following accusations that Jade was sleeping with Offset. Both bartenders claim they got injured during the brawl when Cardi B’s entourage threw bottles and chairs.

For this incident, Cardi B was indicted on 14 charges, which included two counts of assault. She later rejected a plea deal. Since this incident and the following court appearance and charges, many individuals have had a lot to say, especially those who do not support the rapper. On Wednesday, Cardi tweeted, ” I can’t wait till sh*t is over so I can tell my part of sh*t. Motherf****rs really ran with the I send Nikkas to touch b**ches sh*t for too long.”

One user responded to her tweet writing, “NAH FR BECAUSE THEY BEEN LYING ON YOUR NAME FOR SO LONG CLEAR IT BAE.” Cardi B quickly jumped on the opportunity to double down on her previous statement, directly retweeting the fan and adding, “Super clear it ….with Receipts and all!”

The Bronx rapper was, of course, referring to the narrative that many have voiced over the years that she allegedly sent men to assault the strippers in the club as she believes Offset was cheating with her.

Offset and Cardi B got married secretly back in 2017 and shared a daughter named Kulture together. They have had a rocky relationship with the “WAP” rapper, even filing for divorce last year. She later had the case dismissed “without prejudice.” They later rekindled their romance to the disbelief of fans. Cardi B notoriously then went on Instagram and told her fans she was “crazy” and admitted Offset was her “best friend.” Cardi also infamously released an album, Invasion Of Privacy, which detailed Offset’s infidelities and her own threats as a response.

We will watch to see how this plays out!

Cardi B Shares The Surprising Meaning Behind “Up” New Single

Cardi B says her latest song “Up” comes from inspiration from her husband who uses a phrase popular in Georgia that she used to form the hook for her latest single.

The song has been the center of controversy in which a New Jersey rapper claims that Cardi B stole the line from his song. However, the Bronx rapper explained to Jimmy Fallon that the hook is quite popular in her household and the meaning inspired her to make a song. She says her husband Offset uses the phrase “a lot.”

“After the song came out, I thought it was like a Georgia thing. But then people is like, ‘No, we say that in New Orleans. We say that in Florida.”

The rapper has been known to be candid about her experiences and another disclosure to Fallon shocked fans in a good cringey way- “so have you ever taken a poop, right? And it don’t come out? She asked the night show host who seemed to be shocked by the question- “it’s just up and it’s stuck. Yeah,” she said with finality. She added “it’s a metaphorical quote.”

Cardi B who will grace movie screens in the movie Fast and Furious 9, says the making of ‘UP’ was not without its pressures coming after her mega hit “WAP’ with Megan Thee Stallion that was quickly certified gold after it’s release.

“The pressure was even more big because I haven’t released a solo single in like two years, so I was like ‘Oh My God. I just wanna go top to. And it’s predicted to go probably No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100. So I’m like ‘Oh Wow, I exceeded my limit I’m extremely happy.”

In the near future Cardi says a follow up under Invasion of Privacy album released in 2018 is in the making. She says her next releases is certainly going to be an album.

Meanwhile Cardi B also said the pandemic has posed additional challenges to video shoot. “videos, yes of course because there’re certain things that you can’t do…so I did this pyramid with some girls and the pyramid we had to do it in less than 10 seconds because it was more than six people and due to covid, people can’t be touching even though you get tested before the music video three times…you get tested the beginning of the week, the day before and the day of…so that’s extra the money of spending in production.”

Fallon asks “didn’t you like lick eachother at some point?”

Cardi says “because there was six talent, there was 5 of us in the shell. There were 10 girls…it cannot be more than 10 people in a room. It was like the craziest protocol…it was the craziest thing ever.

Fallon joked about the girls onset of the song could lick eachother even though covid guidelines seemed to have bothered Cardi B, it didn’t stop her from kissing other females which is a major covid risk. His reference was to the shocking photograph released showing Asian Doll and Cardi B in a French kiss as their tongues intertwined.

Cardi B confirms role in Fast and Furious 9

Meanwhile Cardi B says her role in the Fast and Furious 9 is a bit ironic since she doesn’t know how to drive although she owns several luxury cars. However it seems that her appearance is certainly all about acting which her diehard fans can’t wait for. “I can’t drive, I can’t swim, I just know how to rap, that’s what I do,” she says!

Style Icon Cardi B Thirst Trap In Curve Hugging Leather Outfit

Cardi B has once again confirmed her status as a style icon.

The rapper from The Bronx took to the ‘gram to show off her latest outfit, which included a leather halter-neck crop top and pink and leather parachute-style pants that were unzipped to show off a fuchsia thong. The look was completed with a Louis Vuitton bag in matching colors, as well as gold accessories. According to stylist, Kollin Carter, Cardi B was wearing “custom @fashionbyreyortiz.”

The look received almost 4 million likes on IG, with the comment section filled with fire emojis and remarks about how good she looked. Lizzo was one who left a comment, asking, “Where we goin?”

Aside from showing off her wardrobe choices, the “WAP” rapper has been busy on social media offering commentary on the current state of her home country. With pro-Trump supporters storming the Capitol Building this week, Cardi’s thoughts echoed many others when she tweeted, “Where the National guards?”

The world looked on in shock at the scenes taking place in The US and couldn’t help but compare the mild reaction of authorities to the violence that occurred at the Black Lives Matter protests earlier last year. “The irony is pretty funny……… weren’t people just wild animals in the summer for demanding justice and now?” the Grammy Award winner wrote. Cardi B also encouraged her followers to stay at home where they would be safer.
