Nicki Minaj Pulls Out Of Met Gala Because Of New Rules

Nicki Minaj will not attend this year’s Met Gala because of some new rules change.

Nicki Minaj is in no mood for Hollywood culture these days. She seems to have taken a stance against award shows in particular. Now she’s turned an angry eye towards fashion as she recently announced that she has no intention of attending the Met Gala tonight, September 13.

She made the announcement via Twitter but has since deleted the tweet. This latest no-show from Nicki comes just a few days after she called out BET for leaving her reunion track “Seeing Green” off of their nomination list. That track was done with her YMCMB teammates Lil Wayne and Drake.

Following that, she dropped out of her performance at the MTV VMAs. In the now-deleted tweet, she didn’t give any particular reason for skipping out on the Gala. “Won’t b there,” she said in reference to the Met Gala. She again drove the point home on Tik Tok when she said, “Not going tho,” with a smirking emoji, again in reference to the Gala.

The event promises to be a star-studded one since last year’s edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It seemed a prime opportunity for Nicki to make her public comeback since she’s mostly been at home with her new family and hasn’t really been to any major events this year.

Nicki Minaj later revealed the reason why she pulled out of this year’s event saying it’s because of the Met Gala’s vaccination requirements.

“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met,” she tweeted. “If I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.”

This year’s Gala, which was pushed from the first Monday in May to the second Monday in September, will fall in line with the tail-end of New York Fashion Week.

The Gala, which is hosted in New York, is considered the premiere celebrity event of the year, especially for high-profile celebrities who get a chance to mingle. Of course, the focus is primarily on fashion which is used as the focal point for the annual fundraising for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

The Barbz no doubt will be disappointed that they will not get a glimpse of Nicki’s usually outlandishly stylish outfits. Something that she’s become known for when attending the Met Gala in the past.

My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied

Nicki Minaj Subs BET Hip-Hop Awards, Cardi B & Megan Leads Nominees

Nicki Minaj is “Seeing Green” after BET Hip-Hop Awards announces this year’s nomination.

The nominees for the 16th annual BET Hip-Hop Awards have been released ahead of the event to be held in October. It’s little surprise that dynamic duo Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are leading this year’s nominations for the Hip Hop awards. Both women have been tied with nine nominations each.

Cardi B, in particular, continues to stun with her ability to sweep awards nominations in spite of not having a mixtape or studio album. Her nominations come from her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion for “WAP,” the raunchy female-centric banger of 2021 that set off many angry men.

Megan’s nominations, on the other hand, account for music from “WAP” but also her albums Good News and track “Suga” released in 2020.

Toronto Lover Boy, Drake, will be battling Megan and Cardi with eight nominations across seven categories and is vying for the coveted Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year award.

Drake’s nominations are from work released in 2020 and won’t include his recently released Certified Lover Boy, which missed the cut-off date for nominations.

Drake’s nominations include “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” with Lil Durk tipped for “Best Hip Hop Video,” “Song of The Year”, and “Best Collaborations” categories. The “Way 2 Sexy” rapper has two nods for his collab on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now” in the collaboration category, while his work on “Migos’ “Havin’ Our Way” is tipped for “Best Featured Verse.”

Drake was nominated in the “Best Lyricist” and “Hustler of The Year” categories as well.

Quite a few big names, including Moneybagg Yo, Tyler, the Creator, Migos, Megan Thee Stallion, DJ Khaled, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin, and J. Cole are nominated for Hip Hop Album of the Year with their latest respective albums, while Lil Nas X received two nominations for his controversial single “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” while Tyler received four nominations for his latest album Call Me If You Get Lost.

Nicki Minaj seemingly wasn’t too happy about the nomination and thinks “Seeing Green” should’ve been given a nod. “If you mention ‘HipHop’ in 2021 & don’t mention #SeeingGreen that tells me everything I need to know,” she shared on Twitter on Thursday (September 9).

Nicki Minaj Unintentionally Embarrasses Cuban Doll For Butchering Her Lyrics

Nicki Minaj says she didn’t intentionally embarrassed Cuban Doll for butchering her lyrics on Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth (Remix).”

Nicki Minaj’s Beam Me Up Scotty has been making strides in the industry, and along with fans and followers, other rappers have received the new release with positive comments and feedback.

Perhaps Cuban Doll is a big fan of the queen’s new release as on Saturday, May 22, she made a post on Instagram and captioned it with what she perceived to be a quote from Nicki’s remix of Skillibeng‘s “Crocodile Teeth”, an addition to the “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape.

The “Let It Blow” rapper posted a shot of her squatting in a bodysuit and heels. “My type of gal wanna know da opps out,” she captioned.

Nicki Minaj slid into the comments section of the post to correct the young rapper, typing out the correct lyrics.

“Might tek a gyal man, I know da opps out,” she wrote. Perhaps no offense was taken by Cuban Doll as she edited the caption and basically went on with her day.

“Beam Me Up Scotty” was released on all streaming services for the first time last week. The “Moment 4 Life” rapper added three new songs to the mixtape; “Seeing Green” ft. Lil Wayne and Drake, “Fractions,” and a remix of Dancehall artiste Skillibeng’s hit record “Crocodile Teeth.”

While it is not new for the Trinidadian rapper to tap into her Caribbean side in her songs, perhaps it is the dialect that sparked the confusion for Cuban Doll.

Nicki Minaj later clarified that her intention was not to embarrassed the young rapper, but just to correct her. “I hope y’all know I love Cuban,” Nicki wrote on her IG Story. “I was having fun w|her. I don’t try 2 embarrass ppl I f** wit. That’s corny. I’ll never correct a lyric ever again chile. Boom.”

Still, the Barbz are making a big deal of the mishap, exclaiming that Nicki’s lyrics were butchered by the 23-year-old rapper.

“If you don’t understand patois just use another verse bc girl,” one person suggested. Another adds, “Just archive the whole post,” while another ordered, “Say my queen lyrics properly or don’t say it at all.”

Cuban Doll was quick to make the corrections, and has so far made no comments on the issue.

Nicki Minaj Dons Skin Tight Dress & Shares Adorable Photo Of Son Papa Bear

The son of rap star Nicki Minaj has captured the hearts of fans as he’s made another appearance on his mother’s social feeds. Although she hasn’t disclosed his name as yet, the eight-month-old baby is affectionately called Papa Bear by his mom, and for fans, that’s his name!

It’s the second time Nicki Minaj shared images of her son since January when he was around three months old.

The new images are from behind-the-scenes footage captured as she promotes her new song with Drake and Lil Wayne, “Seeing Green.”

Among the photos share is one with Nicki Minaj is styled in a flattering gown, and her husband Kenneth Petty is wearing a tailored tuxedo. Papa Bear is seen wearing a white tuxedo with matching leggings and his cute bare feet peeking out.

Other photos show her husband holding their son in his arms while they pose for their first Christmas portrait.

Nicki Minaj is also showing a different side to her as she shares her moments as a working mother. In the middle of a backyard photoshoot, she turns to someone off-camera and asks that they take Papa Bear inside because the sun is too hot. “Get him out this hot sun,” she says.

Nicki Minaj also turned some heads on the Gram when she posted some photos of herself donning a skin-tight dress showing off her post baby body.

The rapper, who has in the past said she was excited about motherhood, shared that she’s enjoying her moments with her son.

“I’ve also been completely overwhelmed with joy & fulfillment in the world of Papa Bear,” she wrote to fans who are finally happy to see the rapper after her almost year-long hiatus before and after her pregnancy. “Each day creates a new & fascinating, magical memory that I hide far away into a little cute compartment of my heart; vowing never to forget any of it.”

Meanwhile, she also shared her son’s favorite movie is Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and he has said his first words among them- “mama.”

She also shared that he was “bopping” to “Seeing Green” before she released it, which is a turn in events as she was unable to finish her album because it appears that Papa Bear did not like rap music while in the tummy.

“He hated rap music when he was in my tummy. He’d kick rlly hard. But he was bopping a lil bit to #SeeingGreen b4 I released it. While pregnant I could only play him soothing music like Enya/classical, etc. he’d be more relaxed. It’s why i couldn’t rlly complete my album preggers,” she replied to a fan who asked, “do you play your songs to papa bear?”
