Rihanna returned to the stage for her first live performance in five years during the 2023 Super Bowl Haltime Show on Sunday, with a representative confirming after that the singer is pregnant with her second child. This makes her the first artist to play the Super Bowl Halftime Show while pregnant.

With just 13 minutes to play with during the break between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium, Rihanna opened her performance with “Bitch Better Have My Money.” Despite the high profile nature of the Super Bowl appearance, Rihanna wouldn’t have been paid for her appearance. Cost of production for the show, however, is thought to be well over $10 million.

She opted against any guest stars, instead focusing on her many hits and an ambitious stage show including floating stages and an army of white hooded dancers.

Speaking during a pre-Bowl press conference, she said last week that she had changed the setlist over 30 times in the run-up to the show as well as suggesting she is continuing to work on new music. Rihanna’s last album, ANTI, dropped in 2016. Last year she returned with “Lift Me Up,” as heard of the soundtrack to Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Rihanna Dangles New Music In Front Of Fans & Hints At End Of “ANTI” Era

Rihanna drops some hints she might be releasing a new song.

While Rihanna has been very active as a businesswoman and fashion mogul over the past few years, she has been mostly MIA as a recording artist. Her last album, ANTI, was released way back in 2016, which feels like a decade ago following the madness of 2020. Since then, Rih has only occasionally popped up as a feature on other people’s songs, such as her appearance on PartyNextDoor’s track “Believe It,” which dropped in March of last year. Of course, RiRi fans are not at all satisfied by a few features and instead have been demanding a full-length album from the singer for years now.

The good news is that while a Rihanna album doesn’t seem to be on the horizon anytime soon, the singer did tease fans this week by suggesting that she may be releasing a new single soon. Excitement built surrounding the prospect of a new track from the Barbados beauty after Rih shared a post from Chart Data about her ANTI album.

The post announced that ANTI has now spent “5 full years on the Billboard 200” and that the project is the “first album by a Black female artist to reach the milestone.” Rihanna captioned her post, saying, “grateful to the most High for putting die hard supporters in my circle #ANTI #WomensHistoryMonth.”

One follower responded to the news in typical Navy fashion by asking for new music. “Celebrate by releasing a song!!” the user suggested. Surprisingly, Rih answered back with a reply that put hope in the hearts of Rihanna fans everywhere.

“I think I should,” RiRi replied. She then added a cruel condition to the deal, saying, “just 1 tho lol”. The post has everyone praying that Rihanna isn’t just leading us on, but only time will tell if a new song is really on its way to our playlists or if the singer is doing what she is known for and breaking everybody’s hearts.

Rihanna Poised To Launch “Fenty Hair” Brand After New Trademark

Rihanna’s next business move became public knowledge with a new trademark application.

The Bajan pop star’s business acumen is becoming unrivaled as the young Roc Nation artist seems to be heading into another business venture as she caters to her fans who have become enthralled by the wigs and weaves phenomenon, which sees so many people opting for the protective styles as they keep their own tresses natural and safe from chemicals and heat that damages hair.

On Thursday, one of Rihanna‘s Twitter fan accounts first spotted the Trademark that the ANTI singer filed a new trademark application with the International trademark website to register a new brand, “Fenty Hair,” which was made through her company Roraj Trade LLC.

Legal documents filed on March 3 broadly covered Fenty Hair to include everything from shampoos, hair relaxers, bleach and color products, and accessories like hair glitter. It’s unclear when the application would be completed as it is only now in its application and approval stage.

However, Rihanna carries sizable fashion influence that has translated to currency she can take to the bank! Her super successful companies so far are Savage X Fenty which covers lingerie that has been a game-changer as it caters to all shapes and sizes of women and does not propagate stereotypes that previously saw skinnier women being catered for. Rihanna’s multimillion-dollar company has kicked its competitors out of business based on her diversification strategy.

The same business mind is behind her skincare company Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin that caters to people of color and all shades and skin tones. The market for black, Asian, and darker-hue-skinned women, which can come in hundreds of shades, as evident in Fenty Beauty’s makeup offerings, has proven a lucrative market for Rihanna, who seems to recognize that this demographic is under-served.

In recent months Rihanna’s fashion House was placed on pause as the global clothing industry declined by almost 90%, with people having no social events to go to.

Recently Rihanna sent fans raving as she emerged with what looked like a 70s Mullet hairstyle. It seems that she has been experimenting with hair fashion and who knows what’s on the horizon for Fenty Hair! In the meantime, fans loved the announcement but moaned about the absence of new music from their favorite artist.

Can’t wait to be around the house in my fenty furnitures, fenty skin on, in my savageXfenty, doing my fenty hair , wearing fentyXpuma, while listening to absolutely NOTHING. ? https://t.co/iPDwViiMVS

Rihanna Turn Heads While Channeling Popcaan’s “Naked” To Promote Savage X Fenty

Rihanna recites her favorite Popcaan line to promote her new Savage X Fenty line.

It’s no secret that Rihanna is a huge fan of reggae/dancehall music, and now we know who is her favorite active act in the genre right now, Popcaan. The Bajan pop beauty turn heads on Instagram as she posed topless while promoting her new line of Savage X Fenty lingerie. But it’s her caption that got dancehall fans excited, including fans of the Unruly Boss after she quoted some lyrics from his smash hit single, “Naked,” featured on his 2018 album, Forever.

“When @popcaanmusic said “me nuh wan ya wear no lingerie tonight fa me girl” @savagexfenty,” RiRi wrote.

Her post comes on the heels of Valentine’s Day celebration, where this Popcaan joint is, without doubt, a part of last weekend’s playlist. If you’re hungry for more music from the St. Thomas native, then you’re in luck because he also dropped off his Gyalentine’s EP on Sunday with some fresh new dancehall bangers fitting for love season.

Fans are now calling for a Rihanna and Popcaan collaboration in light of her highly anticipated dancehall album R9, which she teased over the weekend. “A Poppy and RiRI collab would be fire make it happen sis for R9,” one fan wrote. Another fan added, “A collab is what we want this would be the biggest song of the year easy.”

Celebrities are also reacting to RiRi’s post on IG, with most alluding to how drop-dead gorgeous she is. “omg how are you so beautiful,” Chloe Bailey wrote while adding some heart eye emojis.

Rihanna is currently working on her oft-delayed R9 album, which she promised her fans will worth the wait. Her last project, ANTI, was released back in 2016, and despite it being half a decade old, the pop star remains one of the most streamed artists on the planet right now.

Urban Islandz previously reported that Rihanna’s next album will be a dancehall project as she goes back to her roots. Sources also told us that she could be dropping a double album with one part dancehall and the other part pop. Whichever genre she decided on in the end, one thing will always remain true, Rihanna, like the rest of us, love some good authentic dancehall music.

Rihanna Check Fans Demanding R9 Album In 2021

Rihanna isn’t hear for fans demanding she release a new album in 2021.

Rihanna doesn’t have the time or patience to deal with fans hounding her about when her next album will drop. She’s made it clear once again that she’ll drop a new album only when she feels it’s ready and she’s comfortable with the material on it. It seems she really has no time to deal with the issue in 2021 as she responded to a question from a fan about the same topic.

Under the photo that she posted on her Instagram to ring in the new year, which she captioned “new year’s resolution: apply the pressure.” Her stylist Jahleel Weaver commented, “Speaking of pressure, it’s the album for me.” Rihanna bluntly replied “ph**k you.” Several fans then took the chance under that post to beg for her next album.

She also responded to a next fan who asked questions along the same line saying, “This comment is so 2019, grow up.”

In March 2019, she told Vogue that she was “very aggressively working on music,” but that album R9 has never been given an official release date. Pharrell, who is also working on the project, revealed some details last year while he was being interviewed by Allure. He at least indicated that the album was worth the wait. He said, “Rih is in a different place right now. Like, wow. She’s from a different world. I’m willing to bet, because Venus is gaseous, that if they had a telescope that could zoom through all that shit, you’d see Rih laying there naked.”

Another glimpse at what is expected came last September after singer-songwriter Skylar Grey shared new music that she had been working on, which included a song with Diplo and RiRi that had some reggae elements. “I was working with Diplo on a song for Rihanna. Wrote this with a guy named Hymn. This was when Rihanna was supposedly doing some kind of reggae album. I don’t know if she’s still making a reggae album or what, but this is a song we did for it. I don’t have the whole song, I’m just going to play you a piece of it, and it probably won’t sound great because it’s an iPhone recording of the speakers,” she said.

In another interview, this time with Entertainment Tonight, Rihanna said, “I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it’s gonna come out. And you’re not going to be disappointed when it happens. It’s going to be worth it.” Rihanna’s Navy has been hoping for a new album since 2016 after she dropped ANTI.

Rihanna Has Some New Music With Sizzla Coming

Rihanna is back in the studio working on some new music.

Seems RiRi new album might be coming this year because a very reliable sources told DancehallHipHop that she is back in the studio and she is working on something with Sizzla. The Bajan pop star was spotted recently hitting up a studio in New York and we’re told she was locked down for hours recording new material. The same source confirmed that he came recently reached out to Sizzla’s team but it’s unclear if it’s a new collaboration or a sampling. But fret not we will get the full details soon.

Last year May, Rihanna recorded a new song with Buju Banton from previously recorded material the reggae star had in his arsenal. At the time she registered a new song name “Phatty” and was spotted out in NYC wearing a Buju Banton T-Shirt. She registered a second single titled “Only One Who Knows.” That’s the clearest sign yet that she has been working on her ninths studio album. So far there are no additional details but we have good intel that it might be coming later this year.

Rihanna released her eight album ANTI on January 28, 2016. The project was released exclusively on TIDAL before being available on all digital platforms. ANTI peaked at No. 1 in the United States and Canada and spent a milestone 100 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. It’s been since certified double platinum by the RIAA. Despite not dropping an album in two years, RiRi was the most streamed female artist on Spotify last year. She even earned a number one song on the Hot 100 chart when DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” topped the chart last summer.

Rihanna previously worked with Sizzla on the remix for “Give Me A Try.” She has always been a huge fan of the reggae/dancehall legend and even named him as one of her all-time favorite artists. Aside from dominating the music scene, the “Wild Thoughts” singer has been busy building her fashion and cosmetics empire. Last year she released her Fenty Beauty line of cosmetics which includes 40 shades of makeup. The products sold out in a matter of hours after launch.

She also has a new movie “Valerian” that has been doing well at the box office.

Rihanna is currently working on her next album, but so far there is no word yet on when it will arrive or which direction she will go with it. Her last album ANTI was released in January 2016 and went platinum within the first 24 hours of its release. Considering her commercial success, these past few years have seen Rihanna slowed down how frequent she released albums and go on tours. After all, she also built a massive fashion empire that she has to share some of her time with.
