Angela Yee has announced her exit from Power 105.1 FM morning show The Breakfast Club. Yee first hinted at a change on Tuesday evening when she tweeted: “The breakfast club as you know it is officially over.” The meaning behind the cryptic tweet was then revealed on air on Wednesday morning as Yee, alongside co-hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne, revealed that she is moving on to host her own iHeartRadio show.

“This is really exciting,” Yee said live on air. “This is something that I’ve been waiting to do for years now, way before the pandemic. I had actually sat down with our big boss … and I was telling her, like, ‘Look, I really wanna have my own show.’ You know, I have my podcast Lip Service and I was thinking I would be able to get something like a weekend situation.”

Yee added that she doesn’t have a precise date for her last show but that she will continue until “everything gets worked out.”

The Breakfast Club launched in 2010 and has become a mainstay of gossip blogs and music news with their interviews regularly going viral. Notable examples in recent years have included Soulja Boy’s “Draaake” meme, Gucci Mane threatening to slap Envy, and A$AP Rocky saying “All lives matter.”

Sean Paul Hyped Collab With Spice & Shaggy “Go Down Deh” As A ‘Big Chune’

Sean Paul is gushing about his upcoming track with Spice and Shaggy.

This year Sean Paul has taken the local music industry by storm after releasing one of his two slated albums for 2021. His latest album Live N Livin is loaded with features from dancehall and reggae artists and it is currently all the buzz on the local scene. From young artists like Intence, Masicka, Squash, Skillibeng, and others to veterans like Serani, Agent Sasco, Mavado, Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, and more, the album is jam-packed with celebrity guests.

Many people questioned why the star-studded lineup did not include internationally acclaimed reggae and dancehall superstar Shaggy who was noticeably absent from the tracklist. While it provoked some unfounded speculation about a rift between the two biggest Jamaican artists on the international scene, a soon-to-be-released track from Spice’s freshman album will bring the two together for a dancehall banger.

Fans have been clamoring for a track with Shaggy and Sean Paul for years. When Spice who was also an absentee from Live N Livin album showed support for the project by sharing a snippet from the recently released music video for “Everest” on her Instagram, fans were reminded that the “Big S’s” have something in store for them. Alongside the clip from the video, Spice congratulated Dutty Paul on the song’s success. “Big up @duttypaul you’ve done so much for our culture. This song from your album is blazing fire @skillibeng @masickamusic,” she wrote in the caption.

Sean Paul took the opportunity to make the official announcement for their upcoming track and appeared to reveal the title while at it. “@spiceofficial SAME WAY SO MI ARTIS!!! CYAH WAIT FI DEM GET THE BIG CHINE WIT ME U AN @direalshaggy #GODOWNDEH BIG BBC CHUNE U HEAR DAT!!!” the Grammy Award-winning artist wrote in the comments.

The song seemingly titled “Go Down Deh” is part of Spice‘s debut album TEN, which she announced in February of this year. While Spice appeared on Stylo G’s “Dumpling” Remix with Sean Paul in 2019, and Kemar Highcon’s “So Saucy” Remix with Shaggy the following year, we haven’t heard SP and Shaggy on a joint track since the latter’s “Hey Sexy Lady” Remix from 2003.

Sean Paul was first to spill the tea on the new track in January when he told radio disc jockey DJ 4eign that he is excited about an upcoming banger he called the “Big S’s” with Spice and Shaggy. Then in February, Spice was discussing her freshman album TEN on the Lip Service podcast with Angela Yee when the host let it slip that the reality TV star has a track coming featuring both Shaggy and Sean Paul.

“A major historic single from the album is coming out in April and I think that’s gonna set the record for me,” Spice said at the time. “I have two giants coming out on that track.” That’s when Angela Yee announced that it would be Sean Paul and Shaggy. “Angela, why you did that?” Spice questioned jokingly before dishing more on the track herself.

“For me, I was able to bring them together because I’ve never seen someone on a track with Sean Paul and Shaggy. So having them together on one track means the world to me,” she continued. “The two giants within the genre have done it [crossed over] and have the audience for it so why not have them come together on a track?”

Shaggy is also a part of the production for Spice’s upcoming debut album through his record label, Ranch. “Go Down Deh”, which is expected to be the lead single is slated to be released next Friday (April 30), while the full album will be released this summer. Are you excited about the collaboration with Shaggy and Sean Paul that Spice says will “set the record” for her?

Quando Rondo Describes King Von’s Shooting: “It’s like I had an out-of-body experience”

Quando Rondo says when King Von ambushed and hit him, it was like having an out-of-body experience.

There have been a lot of speculations about the incidents leading up to and after King Von’s killing in November 2020. The killing is reportedly stemmed from an altercation with Von and Quando Rondo, a part of which was captured on video surveillance. Lul Tim, a member of the gang, was even named as the person who allegedly fired the shot that ended the Chicago rapper’s life. After spending some time behind bars, Lul Tim was released.

On Monday, a video was released of an interview Quando Rondo did with Angela Yee, where he spoke of the events that took place on the night of King Von’s shooting. He recalled how he felt safe knowing that he had his security details around him which includes some of his day ones. When he came out of the car, he started walking and saw a group of people coming towards him.

“I walk from the car, I turn around to walk up and I see a group of people coming,” Quando Rondo laments. “In my mind, I’m just thinking regular, in reality. I’m about to let these people walk past me. I’m not about to try and go through these people or nothing like that. I’m thinking these were some regular individuals.”

Rondo added that he did not think anything of it until King Von put hands on him. “Next thing you know, King Von hit me,” he said. “It’s like I had an out-of-body experience.”

The events that happened next apparently resulted in shots being fired by Rondo’s associate and King Von receiving a fatal wound. Since Lul Tum’s release, Quando Rondo has certainly been singing his praises and even recently gifted him with luxury watches which he showed off on Instagram.

The comments following Quando’s revelation on the interview about being punched and having an “out-of-body experience” had a few users questioning the validity of his recounting of what really took place. One user even questioned, “why he sound like an 8 year old lying.” For the most part, fans in the comments carry a similar thread with persons caught between trying to understand what he was saying and wondering if there is any truth to it.

DJ Envy got trolled relentlessly on social media last night over some racy SnapChat messages allegedly between himself and a female.

Screenshots of the alleged messages hit the net around midnight and all while he was sleeping he was getting hammered on Twitter. Imagine waking to your name trending on Twitter for all the wrong reasons. The Breakfast Club host responded to the messages on the show this morning. “I don’t know where [the messages] came from,” Envy said. “Whoever it was has been chasing all the reputable blogs, [and] nobody posted it. And I guess they found one that has.”

DJ Envy was the butt of jokes from his co-hosts Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee who trolled him this morning. Charlamagne even posted a video of the radio host/producer walking into the office with a big smile on his face. “Now am go tell ya’ll some real sh*t,” Envy said. “That was me and Charlamagne going back and forth on SnapChat.” Charlamagne responded saying that he is way more kinkier than that on SnapChat. “Can’t be true I am way more kinky than that,” he said.

Nevertheless, this is some added publicity for DJ Envy who is currently working on his forthcoming album.
