Alicia Keys teams up with Brent Faiyaz for new song “Trillions”
The deluxe edition of the singer-songwriter’s KEYS is out now.

By Jordan Darville

August 12, 2022

At the end of 2021, Alicia Keys shared her project KEYS, an ambitious double album-length exploration of the R&B songwriter’s inspiration and compositional spectrum. She even spoke to us about it for a two-part podcast. Today, she’s dropped the album’s deluxe edition KEYS II – it contains the new songs “Stay” featuring Lucky Daye and “Trillions,” a Brent Faiyaz team-up.

“Trillions” could easily be a b-side from Faiyaz’s new album Wasteland (which featured Keys on the song “Ghetto Gatsby”) and Keys is more than happy to swim in his screwed-up soup of paisley-colored crooning. The creative chemistry is apparent and carries the music video despite its relatively unremarkable visuals. Watch it above.

Alicia Keys has truly been playing up to the locals during her recent run of U.K. shows, performing for the Queen outside Buckingham palace one weekend and then bringing out Johnny Marr in Manchester the next. Yes, on Saturday night Keys was playing at the AO Arena in Manchester when she brought out hometown hero Marr to run through “This Charming Man” by his band The Smiths. Naturally, understandably, Morrissey wasn’t invited. Check out footage from the Manchester show below.

Late last year Keys was a guest on The FADER Interview, in which she discussed her album KEYS. She also appeared alongside Kanye West on drill rapper Fivio Foreign’s “City Of Gods,” released in February.

Fivio Foreign shares “City of Gods” video featuring Kanye West and Alicia Keys
The single dropped last Friday.

By Jordan Darville

February 18, 2022

Fivio Foreign’s feature on Kanye West’s Donda was the album’s only star-making moment and one of the project’s undisputed highlights. It turned the New York City drill rapper from hotly-tipped to actually on-fire, and with his latest single “City of Gods,” released last week, Fivio sought to seize the mantle of New York City’s hottest rapper. Today, the song’s visuals are out.

The track is a fairly obvious attempt to create an “Empire State of Mind” for the drill era down to the Alicia Keys feature. Where the songs differ are the tones, especially the hook: “Empire” was hopeful whereas “City” is more despondent, as if the titular Gods are on their last legs. I suppose both songs are reflective of the country’s moods at the time of their respective creations, and Kanye West’s feature sadly reflects that: it’s half-hearted, unenthusiastic, and its Pete Davidson-targeting lines have already aged like milk. Still, if you’ve watched the excellent first episode of Netflix’s Kanye doc Jeen-Yus, it’s impossible to question West’s devotion to the city where he signed his first record deal.

The song and its black-and-white visuals are dedicated to Tahjay “T Dott” Dobson, a rapper and an associate of Fivio Foreign who was killed earlier this month. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has cited deaths like Adams’ as his motivation behind targeting drill rappers with a proposed social media crackdown.

Fivio Foreign has confirmed details of his debut album .B.I.B.L.E and shared a new song featuring Kanye West and Alicia Keys. “City Of Gods” precedes the album, which is due next month and executive produced by Ye, too.

The song is dedicated to Tahjay “T Dott” Dobson, a late friend and collaborator of Fivio’s. “T Dot. That’s my baby boy,” he said in a statement. “I never thought I’d be doing this without you here with me. You supposed to be here with me but you gon always be the Prince in the City of Gods. Your name will forever live through me. Long Live Prince T Dot.”

On December 10, Alicia Keys will share her eighth studio album Keys. The project will sport two separate versions: Originals and Unlocked. Today, you can hear the Originals and Unlocked versions of the album’s lead single “Best Of Me.”

Stacking the two versions of “Best Of Me” together is like comparing siblings: identical in some respects, starkly different in others. The Originals version is slightly smoother, all glowy organ chords and Keys’s trademark vocals, while the Unlocked side takes that foundation and adds a few additional musical elements for something you’d want to hear at the beginning of a good house DJ set.

In a statement, Alicia keys explained the differences in the album sides. “The Originals come from that classic side of me! It’s that AK that we WANT!! A homecoming. The Unlocked side, I wanted to sample The Originals to create a whole other sonic experience. So, @mikewillmadeit and I connected and made magic. Together, they are a fusion of the worlds within me with the #KEYS as the main ingredient.”

Alicia Keys & Baby Cham Performs “Ghetto Story” At Swizz Beatz Birthday Bash

Alicia Keys and international dancehall artist Cham reunited to perform “Ghetto Story” at Swizz Beatz’s birthday bash.

The classic dancehall crossover track with famous vocalist Alicia Keys brought on some nostalgic vibes at the birthday party of famous American music producer Swizz Beatz. The Verzuz co-founder hosted a party for his 43rd birthday this past weekend, and his wife Alicia Keys and dancehall star Baby Cham performed their popular hit song “Ghetto Story Chapter 2” from 2006.

A video clip from Swizz Beatz’s birthday party surfaced online, showing the throwback performance by Alicia Keys and Cham in a club setting. Swizz appeared to be having the time of his life as he danced and sang along to the hit song. Also in attendance was Busta Rhymes, who was also spotted singing and dancing to the track as well as joining in on the gun fingers gesture and the signature “Rah Rah” part of the chorus.

The hit collaboration was spurred on by the original sequel “Ghetto Story” by Cham, which was the lead single off his album of the same name. In 2006, Baby Cham and Alicia joined forces for the second part of the sequel, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart and No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also went No. 13 on the Rap Airplay chart while Cham’s Ghetto Story album rose to No. 53 on the Billboard 200 chart. Following the second part of the sequel, Cham also released the 3rd chapter with Akon and a 4th chapter with both Akon and Alicia Keys.

It’s been years since Alicia Keys and Cham were seen together performing the popular song, and it really brought fans back to the early 2000s. At a time when dancehall crossover songs were scarce, Alicia’s presence on a Baby Cham track was quite a big deal. The music video for the song also entered BET’s 106 & Park at No. 9 and peaked at No. 5 on the chart, which is a rarity for any dancehall track. The music video has also accumulated more than 30 million views on YouTube to date.

Just like any fan would, Swizz Beatz, Busta Rhymes, Alicia Keys, Cham, and more were having a blast with the nostalgic track during the producer’s birthday celebration.

Akbar V Likes Drake’s Print And Shoots Her Shot

Akbar V is among a very long list of women lusting over Drake after he shared his pics from in the gym.

Drake has never liked his dating life to be in the public eye, despite consistently spilling all his emotions every time he puts out an album. But for the most part, it’s hard to say at any given moment if Drake is single and looking or booed up with some mystery woman. For most eligible women out there, this means that the 6 God is fair game to shoot their shot should they be so inclined. Plenty of ladies were, in fact, inclined after a recent workout picture posted by Drizzy had the internet going crazy over the way Champagne Papi was filling out his sweatpants.

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Akbar V is the latest to make a pass at Drake with a creative video inspired by the Alicia Keys music video for “You Don’t Know My Name”. Posting the clip to Instagram, Akbar begins her mock phone conversation, saying, “I’m gonna go ahead and call him, I think I’m gonna call him.”

A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom)

After pretending to dial, Akbar V flirtatiously says, “Hello? Can I speak to Drake? Hey Drake, this is Akbar V. I know you don’t know me or anything but I just be watching you all over the blogs and I see you with the joggers on and I seen that print hanging out of it and it’s real big, I was just telling my girlfriends that.”

Pushing the joke further, Akbar adds, “And I was wondering, could I test drive it? I mean like, I think we would make a good couple…I remember the first tape Take Care and I just feel like you need someone like me Drake.” V asked for support from her followers in her caption for the post, writing, “can y’all help me out I’m shooting my shot with @champagnepapi I just need him to know my name.” Do you think Akbar has a chance with Drizzy?

JAY-Z, Alicia Keys, Meek Mill demand justice for Ahmaud Arbery in open letter
“As a society we can no longer pretend that the racial inequities, which exist in every facet of our lives, don’t invariably lead down the path to poverty, violence, and death,” the letter reads.

The social justice arm of Roc Nation ran an open letter in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sunday, demanding justice for Ahmaud Arbery, the unarmed 25-year-old Black man who was shot and killed in February while jogging. The case had dragged on with little movement until last week, when a video showing the fatal shooting was published online. Soon after, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested two men — Travis McMichael, 34, the man who shot Arbery, and his father Greg McMichael, 64 — on charges of murder and aggravated assault in connection with the killing.

The letter — signed by JAY-Z, Alicia Keys, Yo Gotti, Meek Mill, and two attorneys — acknowledges that those arrests were a “positive first step on the long road toward justice,” but insists that they were just a first step. “It only strengthens our resolve to see that justice is eventually served,” they write.

Open letter to Georgia elected officials appearing in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution today, calling for justice to be served in the case of Ahmaud Arbery's murder. Convict his killers and show the world that hate and fear will lose. #JusticeforAhmaud #iRunWithMaud

A post shared by Roc Nation (@rocnation) on May 10, 2020 at 1:00am PDT

To ensure justice for Arbery, Roc Nation writes, a number of actions must be taken. They call for William Bryan, who recorded the video of Arbery’s killing, to be charged as an armed accomplice. They insist that District Attorney Durden recuse himself from the case, as the elder McMichael’s police background creates a conflict of interest. The letter also calls for Attorney General Chris Carr to appoint a special prosecutor.

“As a society we can no longer pretend that the racial inequities, which exist in every facet of our lives, don’t invariably lead down the path to poverty, violence, and death,” the letter reads. “To even think about breaking this cycle we need you to protect the process and preserve the fairness of the trial. And if you take those neccesary actions, you will send a message to the people that want to drage Georgia back to a time when African-Americans were killed for merely voting: hate and fear will lose.”

Don Toliver – Spaceship Lyrics

Play this song

[Chorus: Don Toliver]
I get a lil’ impatient (Yeah, yeah)
Who steady copped the keys to my spaceship?
Sellin’ all Alicia Keys, she on my playlist (Yeah, yeah)
I am not receiving, you know I don’t take shit
I, I, I spilled lean all in my ride (Lean all in my ride)
Dumpin’ ashes on your thigh (Ashes on your thigh)
You might be ready for surprise, oh
I get a lil’ impatient (Yeah, yeah)
Who steady copped the keys to my spaceship?
Sellin’ all Alicia Keys, she on my playlist (Yeah, yeah)
I am not receiving, you know I don’t take shit

[Verse 1: Don Toliver]
I’m in my spaceship (Whatever), getting that facelift (Uh-huh)
LA daytrip, I’m eating them rib tips
Call up the ref, I’m balling, pouring it, so we’re falling
Twenty-five hundred for the cardigan, Saint Laurent, my dawgs in

[Chorus: Don Toliver & Sheck Wes]
I get a little impatient
Who steady copped the keys to my spaceship?
Sellin’ all Alicia Keys, she on my playlist
I am not receiving, you know I don’t take shit
It’s the new age flex, hoppin’ out of the jet
Spend a ticket on Rolex, plus the ice on your neck
Bust it down and collect, send that money through text
You can hit me on my phone, you can call me direct
I, I, I spilled lean all in my ride
Dumpin’ ashes on your thigh (Yeah)
You might be ready for surprise, oh

[Verse 2: Sheck Wes]
Yeah, hotbox my SUV (Bitch), nobody can breathe (At all)
I ain’t never fear a thing (No), baby, in your dreams (Dreams)
Sheck Wes, fear don’t sleep (Uh)
Air Force 1s, no crease (Crease)
Someone arrest my jeans (Simons)
Blunt lit in my face (Face)
Diamonds in my teeth
Pick, um, the VVS
She ain’t really got no meaning, uh
In a fast car, I’m speeding, uh
And I can’t wait for no red light (Red light)
If I’m chasing this green (Go)
I need more M’s than B’s (B’s)
Sheck and Don on a different time and payment
All my cars from Europe, his car from Avis
Every day I wake up, new whips hit the pavement
I had to watch my living, I don’t know no limits at all, all, all

[Chorus: Don Toliver]
I get a lil’ impatient (Yeah, yeah)
Who steady copped the keys to my spaceship?
Sellin’ all Alicia Keys, she on my playlist (Yeah, yeah)
I am not receiving, you know I don’t take shit
I, I, I spilled lean all in my ride (Lean all in my ride)
Dumpin’ ashes on your thigh (Ashes on your thigh)
You might be ready for surprise, oh

Elujay – Mrs. Jackson Lyrics (feat. Rexx Life Raj)

[Chorus: Elujay]

Cause you act so cold
You act so cold, why you act so cold?
Why you act so cold?
Why you act so cold?

[Verse 2: Rexx Life Raj]
Can a nigga swoop or what?
With the henny just to loosen up
Ride around the town with the music up, getting stupid drunk
But pull it over when we’re .09
I swear the legal limit been the only limit of mine
I’m a little too drunk to take you for dinner and wine
But if that’s what you really want, I guess that’ll be fine
I can, simp for the bud one time
Niggas do whatever for a nut onetime
Laugh, out, mother-f**king loud
We can f**k around as long as we don’t f**k around
I’m kinda down for whatever you are
Just give me the word
At times you just wanna talk, you feel like you don’t be heard
I could be Alicia Keys with the diary
Communication is key, oh the irony
I guess, being the baddest bitch could be tiring
You killing them softly and quietly

Justin Timberlake – Morning Light (feat. Alicia Keys) lyrics

[Verse 1: Justin Timberlake]
Look, every time there’s a new sunrise
I open up my eyes
And I say to myself, “In the whole wide world of guys
I must be the luckiest alive”

[Chorus: Justin Timberlake]
Because I’m in love with you
Laying here, in the morning light
And all I want to do is hold you tight, just one more night

[Verse 2: Alicia Keys]
Look, I can’t even get out of bed
With the thoughts you putting in my head
So I say to myself, “I don’t even want to try”
Here, every part of me is paralyzed

[Chorus: Alicia Keys & Justin Timberlake]
‘Cause I’m in love with you
Laying here in the morning light
And all I want to do is hold you tight just one more night
Yes I’m in love with you
Laying here in the morning light
And all I want to do is hold you tight, just one more night

[Verse 3: Justin Timberlake]
I know I got somewhere to go
But I’m thinking we should lay here real low (lay here real low)
Ooh, ’cause baby, it’s no lie
Ooh, I could watch you ’til the day I die

[Chorus: Justin Timberlake & Alicia Keys]
‘Cause I’m in love with you
Laying here in the morning light
And all I want to do is hold you tight just one more night
Yes, I’m in love with you
Laying here in the morning light
And all I want to do
Is hold you tight, just one more, one more night

Michelle Obama’s Valentine’s Day Playlist For Barack Obama Is Too Stinkin’ Cute

Former First Lady Michelle Obama took some time on Valentine’s Day to share the love with music fans!

She put together an entire playlist filled with all of her favorite songs about love, dedicating it especially to the love of her life, former President Barack Obama. As if that isn’t cute enough the playlist is titled “Forever Mine.” Ok, so it was mainly for him, but we’re excited about the playlist as well.

JAY-Z Left Grammys Empty Handed But Still Got The Biggest Award

JAY-Z was completely snubbed at the 60th annual Grammy Awards in New York, almost.

Hov, who is one of the most decorated artists in the history of the Grammy, went home empty-handed at this year’s awards. The “4:44” rapper went into the ceremony the Madison Square Gardens with the most nominations, but lost on each of his eight nods to either Kendrick Lamar or Bruno Mars. In fact, K-Dot and Mars almost sweep every category they were nominated in.

Thankfully, the good folks at the Recording Academy recognized JAY-Z’s contribution to music the night before by honoring him with an industry icon award. But that was not enough to appease fans who were very vocal about their discontentment on social media on Sunday night. JAY-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was this year’s Salute to Industry Icons honoree. The rap legend received a tribute performance from Alicia Keys and thus received the President’s Merit Award.

“We can pretend that we don’t care, but we really care, ’cause we seen the most incredible artists stand on those stages and we aspire to be that,” the rap mogul said while accepting the award. “So I was like, I have to be here. That is the idea for us to all get involved and to push this thing further. For the people that come before us, it’s our duty. It’s our duty to make sure that, you know, not only are we making the greatest art, that we upholding and supporting the things that’s super real. I’m super humble, and I’m super appreciative of the Academy and everybody here tonight.”

During her performance, Alicia Keys belted out some vocals to her collaboration with JAY-Z, “Empire State of Mind,” before performing some of his classics including “Dead President II” and “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem).” Jay also turned down a chance to perform at the Grammy’s as if he had an idea that he would be snubbed in the end. Nevertheless, it was a bit embarrassing to watch Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Childish Gambino, and others accept one after another Grammy and Hov just sitting there.

It’s like Drake and Alicia Keys whenever Price pull his wrist out, fireworks trip down
She fucked the worth at the work and I tell her to strip down, call her Lyft now
Killing 2 hoes who get too close, please don’t be callin’ me bro
I’m movin’ legit gettin’ dough, no you not hittin’ my smoke
I just get lifted after shows, don’t gotta hit licks no more
But won’t let you take nothin’ from me, don’t let your ass owe me some money

Young wild and reckless, diamond Henny bottle necklace
No lames in my section, smoke or not ain’t a question, yeah

[Verse 4: Dizzy Wright]

Chit chat, fuck that, I told her bring that ass in my direction
I gotta get my point across, is you with it or you not?
Wordsmith, twist up, I pull up and get it n go, I gotta get it now
What it mean I’m boutta be the boss
Be about your business, never let them play you out
Hit the city, hit the stage, shirt tucked in, black Bruce Lee style

They don’t know the situation, they don’t know what we go thru when ain’t nobody else ’round

[Chorus: Reezy]
Hey, I pull up and get it n go

Pull up and get it n go, pull up and get it n go
I pull up and get it n go, I pull up and get it n go

[Verse 6: Emilio Rojas]
I’m sittin’ in the middle of the city with the cash
I’ma hit a hundred fifty on the dash
All the women that are with me and they bad
When I get ’em in the pad then I hit it they gonna splash
I did it to be livin’ in a tenement so when we get the money we just set it in the stash
Yeah, we get it and we never gonna be settlin’ for less
If you meddle, then you know we gonna clash
Shorty worried about a fat transfer, I’m just worried about a bank transfer
No ID call my phone but that’s the type of call that I can’t answer
Runnin’ ’round I’m in uptown, I’m with a bunch of kings that speak bad Spanish
Comin’ around to my block and you got no pass, nigga taxed after like

[Chorus: Reezy]
Hey, I pull up and get it n go
And all of my hitters will go and all of my bitches will go
The minute I hit I go, I pull up and get it n go
I hit a lick and I go, all of my bitches’ll go

Is Eminem sending a message with the cover art for his upcoming album Revival.

The Detroit rapper’s highly anticipated new body of work is set for a December 15 release date, which means it will likely arrive next week Thursday night around midnight. The photo is a bit of an optical illusion where at first glance you will see the American flag, but if you look closer you will see an image of Eminem positioned in a disheartening way with his hand on his forehead as if he is grieving.

On Wednesday night, Eminem revealed the cover art in his native Detroit where he projected the image onto tall buildings in the middle of the city. He posted a video on YouTube showing the big reveal using his new single “Walk on Water” as the soundtrack. The tracklist for Revival is currently out with Beyonce, Kehlani, Pink, Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, Phresher, Skylars Grey, and more making a guest appearance.

Alicia Keys – 28 Thousand Days Lyrics

ALICIA KEYS
28 Thousand Days Lyrics

[Intro]
Yeah, uh

[Verse 1]
Blood in my eye, hand on my heart
Feet on the ground, head to the sky
Cause trouble ain’t no friend of mine
Ain’t no giving it up, no more wasting time

[Chorus 1]
If you had 28 thousand days
Who would you love? Where would you go?
What would you celebrate?
I’m telling you that life’s too short to just throw it away
So have the time of your life, so have the time of your life
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey

[Verse 2]
Back from hell with my angel wings
Ain’t no fear in my voice
Cause I’m making a choice
The devil ain’t no friend of me
And that clock on the wall is telling me
(That there’s just…)

[Chorus 2]
There’s only 28 thousand days
Who would you love? Where would you go?
What would you celebrate?
I’m telling you that life’s too short to just throw it away
So have the time of your life, so have the time of your life
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey

[Chorus 2]
There’s only 28 thousand days
Who would you love? Where would you go?
What would you celebrate?
I’m telling you that life’s too short to just throw it away
So have the time of your life, so have the time of your life
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey
Hey, ey, ey

[Verse 1: Quavo]
Wrist drownin’ in the water

J’s go nuts, acornin’
Look at me now, I’m soarin’
Look at the lean I’m pourin’
Come get your ho, she annoyin’
We toss her up like a coin
24 hours, geekin’ on a tower
Shootin’ at you cowards
‘Cause my wrist two hundred thousand
If a nigga try to take it
I swear to god he ain’t gon’ make it
Back to the bando, the basics
Seein’ green numbers, the Matrix
Look at that boy with the ice on
Catching plays Jerry Rice on me
I know niggas that’ll get you nigga
If a nigga put the right price on it
Remember the days on the northside
Hit for a rack on the dice homie
Now I take the mic and stand on the stage
I p-p-p-pipe on it
And if you lookin’ at me wrong
I got some niggas that’s right on ’em
All these flawless stones
I bet your hoe gon’ bite on ’em
Smokin’ this gas get rid of the pain
You might think I got Glaucoma
Niggas might think I’m servin’ the J’s
‘Cause I’m walkin’ with these rocks on me

[Hook: Quavo]
I got more Keys than Alicia (keys)
These niggas be talkin’ policin’ (12)

Lord I hope it don’t vanish (god)
Two hundred thousand on my wrist

Two hundred thousand on my wrist
You probably thought I couldn’t buy this shit

[Verse 2: Lil Uzi Vert]
White diamonds on my neck
White diamonds on my fist
I just got a white bitch
And she whippin’ up the brick
In the trap my car, yeah it got that motor

If that bitch is really not on mind, deep throat
Ayy, told that bitch eat out my oldest
She stick that dick en la boc’

Mixin’ the lean with cream soda (yeah)
Young nigga but my money gettin’ older, ayy

Look at my money, that’s L-O-V-E
Smokin’ that gas like a stoner

Kanye West – Diamonds from Sierra Leone, Ratatat remix

[Kanye West]

Diamonds are forever
They won’t leave in the night
I’ve no fear that they might
Desert me
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever)
Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever, forever)
The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme
Forever ever? Forever ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever?……
Close your eyes and imagine, feel the magic
Vegas on acid
Seen through Yves St. Laurent glasses
And I’ve realized that I’ve arrived, cuz
It take more than a magazine to kill my Vibe does
He write his own rhymes, so sort of
I think ’em
That mean I forgot better shit than u ever thought up
Damn, is he really that caught up?
I ask if you talkin’ bout classics, do my name get brought up?
I remember I couldn’t afford a Ford Escort or even a four-track recorder
So its only right that I let the top drop on a drop-top Porsche
– its for yourself that’s important
If a stripper named Porscha and u get tips from many men
Then your fat friend her nickname is Minivan
Excuse me
That’s just the Henny, man, I smoke, I drink, I’m supposed to stop I can’t because

Diamonds are forever (forever, forever)
Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever, forever)
The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme
Forever ever? Forever ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever?……

[Kanye West]

I was sick about awards
Couldn’t nobody cure me
Only playa that got robbed but kept all his jewelry
Alicia Keys tried to talk some sense to them
30 minutes later seems there’s no convincing them
What more can you ask for?
The international assholes nah
Who complains about what he is owed?
And throw a tantrum like he is 3 years old
You gotta love it though somebody still speaks from his soul
And wouldn’t change by the change, or the game, or the fame
When he came, in the game, he made his own lane
Now all I need is y’all to pronounce my name
Its Kanye – But some of my plastic – they still say Kane
Got family in the D, Kin-folk from Motown
Back in the Chi – them folks ain’t from Motown
Life movin’ too fast I need to slow down
Girl ain’t give me no ass, ya need to go down
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever)
My father Ben said I need Jesus
So he took me to church and let the water wash over my ceaser
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever)
The preacher said we need leaders
Right then my body got still like a paraplegic
You know who you can call you gotta best believe it
The Roc stand tall and you would never believe it
Take your diamonds and throw ’em up like you bulimic
Yea the beat cold but the flow is anemic
After debris settles and the dust get swept off
Big K pick up where young Hov left off
Right when magazines wrote Kanye West off
I dropped my new shit sound like the best of
A&R’s lookin’ like “pssh we messed up”
Grammy night, damn right, we got dressed up
Bottle after bottle till we got messed up
In the studio, where really though, yea he next up
People askin’ me if I’m gon’ give my chain back
That’ll be the same day I give the game back
You know the next question dog “Yo, where Dame at?”
This track the Indian dance to bring our reign back
“What’s up with you and Jay, man, are y’all ok man?”
They pray for the death of our dynasty like Amen
R-r-r-right here stands a-man
With the power to make a diamond with his bare hands…

Diamonds are forever (forever, forever)
Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever, forever)
The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme
Forever ever? Forever ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever?…

Kanye West – Diamonds from Sierra Leone, Ratatat remix Lyrics

[Kanye West]

Diamonds are forever
They won’t leave in the night
I’ve no fear that they might
Desert me
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever)
Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever, forever)
The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme
Forever ever? Forever ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever?……
Close your eyes and imagine, feel the magic
Vegas on acid
Seen through Yves St. Laurent glasses
And I’ve realized that I’ve arrived, cuz
It take more than a magazine to kill my Vibe does
He write his own rhymes, so sort of
I think ’em
That mean I forgot better shit than u ever thought up
Damn, is he really that caught up?
I ask if you talkin’ bout classics, do my name get brought up?
I remember I couldn’t afford a Ford Escort or even a four-track recorder
So its only right that I let the top drop on a drop-top Porsche
– its for yourself that’s important
If a stripper named Porscha and u get tips from many men
Then your fat friend her nickname is Minivan
Excuse me
That’s just the Henny, man, I smoke, I drink, I’m supposed to stop I can’t because

Diamonds are forever (forever, forever)
Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe
Diamonds are forever (forever, forever, forever)
The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme
Forever ever? Forever ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever? Ever, ever?……

[Kanye West]

I was sick about awards
Couldn’t nobody cure me
Only playa that got robbed but kept all his jewelry
